Surgiskills is the brain child of A/Professor Maurice Brygel, a General Surgeon practicing in Melbourne Australia. Brygel was one of the pioneers in video based medical education with his series The Video Book of Surgery back in 1990. The Video Book of surgery was pre-internet and consisted of a series of text books that worked in conjunction with a VHS video tape series to teach office based surgical procedures. Ever since the release of The Video Book of Surgery Brygel has been actively involved in surgical education and has developed an extensive media collection. Working with cogniio, Brygel has now developed surgiskills.com, an extensive online training program that delivers surgical education to every corner of the globe.
Brygel believes that delivering education is a two way street and for this reason surgiskills.com is more then just a library of video lectures. Brygel’s courses are interactive and allow you to ask questions from the lectures at any time, you can also interact with other course students, share ideas and feedback and test yourself. The course includes all the support material you may need including patient information templates.
